You don't have to be a movie star to want care in the comfort of your own home. House calls make sense for a lot of my clients. When I come to you, it saves you your most precious resource- time.
Many of my clients balance house calls with office visits and therapy over the internet, via I-Chat. It's the best of both worlds. if you are interested in psychotherapy but have a busy travel schedule.
"Teletherapy" can provide a face-to-face solution that is more personal and effective than a phone call. All you need is a properly configured computer and an internet connection. I-Chat is easy to use and as secure as a telephone call.
For patients who want to detox in the comfort and privacy of their own home, a house call can meet that need. Through Malibu Psychiatric Services, I can also arrange for a sober companion or nurse to ensure that you receive the same level of care offered by Malibu's top residential treatment centers, at a fraction of the cost.

Why Do I Make House Calls?
Medicine has changed a lot since my grandfather first put out a shingle in 1937. In my father's era, house calls fell out of practice. Doctors made more and more money, so you went to them. House calls became impractical.
House calls are such a personal way to practice medicine. My own practice operates out of my home, here in Malibu. My patients enjoy coming into the waiting room and making themselves a cup of tea before a session starts.
If you can't make it here, you still deserve the best care available. I can come to you.
Of only a few doctors who still make house calls, most charge exorbinant fees. I charge for my time. You pay for only the time it takes out of my day, at my regular fee.
If you are tech savy, I-Chat is another option for conducting therapy with me over the internet.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A HOUSE CALL
If you already had recent laboratory work and a physical exam has been performed in the last thirty days, than a house call will be no different than going to see a psychiatrist in his office. All that is required are two chairs for us to sit in.
Should you need routine blood analysis, a technician will come to your house to obtain a sample.
Should you require a physical examination, you have two options: you may use your regular doctor, or I can bring my assistant and perform a limited physical exam in your house.
As a psychiatrist, I do not treat medical illness. Your exam will be limited to determining whether there are obvious signs of a condition requiring additional treatment.
